cultural re-expressons 101

In 2004, my brother Tareq and I collaborated on an exhibition of his conception and design that he titled ‘Cultural Re-Expressions 101′.  The exhibition was held at the construction site of the Life Center shopping and office center. His idea was to present a collection of paintings which depicted traditional Kuwaiti life through the eyes of a contemporary artist. He had the gallery built (and later destroyed) and I created the paintings. The whole production was fleeting, just like our architectural links to our past.
